Paul Detwiler
San Diego Mesa College Professor, Marine Biology and Oceanography
I have comprehensive experience in marine science as a researcher, technician, videographer, author, and educator, emphasizing organismal biology and ecology of marine invertebrates in temperate, subtropical and tropical environments. I've held teaching, research, and consulting positions with San Diego State University, the University of San Diego, the San Diego and Los Angeles Natural History Museums, the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, Reef.org, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. As a writer and editor, I've revised the supplemental Instructor's Manual and Test Bank for Karleskint, Turner and Small's college textbook Introduction to Marine Biology (3rd and 4th eds). My interests include multimedia/video production for marine science education, and curriculum development, emphasizing experiential learning activities in biological science.
